Sam and Paul chose my Wedding Breakfast service for their wedding at beautiful Ufton Court and so I started my day at the Holiday Inn, Padworth, where Sam and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Everyone was on good and relaxed form. I’m always able to work around the bride and bridesmaids at this busy but fun time without getting in the way. All too soon it was time to head to nearby Ufton Court to meet Paul for a few informal shots while the guests arrived.
A slight hiccup occurred when the assistant registrar was involved in a traffic accident. Luckily she was unhurt but could no longer make it so the ceremony was delayed for half an hour while a replacement was found. Sam arrived in her black cab and remained wonderfully calm, despite the news. The planned Easter Egg hunt was brought forward to keep the children busy before the ceremony while we awaited the new registrar.
At last the ceremony was held in Ufton’s beautiful Tithe Barn and went without any further hiccups but with plenty of smiles and a few tears.
At long last the weather had picked up and we were able to take some group and bride and groom photos around the grounds at Ufton before Sam and Paul returned to their guests in the main house while I milled around taking some informal photos of the fun. Sam’s school class had prepared a very touching giant penguin themed congratulations card to go with the table decoration theme, and each child had drawn their own picture wishing the couple well. A hog roast was on the menu and the aroma was very appetising as I went back to the barn with the bride, groom and guests so they could settle for their meal. I said my goodbyes and headed off home to start work on the photos.
