Michelle and Rick’s wedding at St Peter’s Church, Burnham and the Burnham Beeches Hotel gave a wonderful object lesson in what to do if the weather goes wrong on your wedding day – simply embrace it! From a beautiful sunny start in the morning, the rain clouds formed quickly and emptied themselves over most of the day, with a few welcome, but brief, breaks. There was no sign of Michelle and Rick letting this dampen their enjoyment of their day.
After leaving Michelle finishing off getting ready at Burnham Beeches I headed to St Peter’s as Rick greeted some slightly soggy guests before their ceremony. Luckily the rain stopped for a few minutes after the ceremony for a great confetti run down the long path outside the church on the way to the reception at Burnham Beeches. I was delighted when Michelle and Rick said they were happy to ignore the weather and go for a quick bride and groom photo session in the lovely grounds at the hotel, with and without umbrellas. We had a fun session which lightened up even more when Michelle’s garter slipped on the way back to the dry sanctuary of indoors. We also managed to get a group photo outside before the rain returned and the rest of the day flew by indoors; highlights being some brilliant tales of exploits in Kavos, Corfu, during the speeches, and a well choreographed first dance.
It’s been quite a wet summer this year but thanks to Michelle and Rick for showing the way to enjoy it.
