Hayley and Nick were married at lovely little Christ Church, Ramsdell in Hampshire on a very musical day. Emma-Claire, one of the bridesmaids, gave a wonderful rendition of Schumann’s “Widmung” during the ceremony, and Schubert’s “Ave Maria”, accompanied by another bridesmaid, Anna. After their ceremony we made our way to lovely Herons Farm, near Pangbourne, Berkshire, for their reception celebrations. My hat goes off to the driver of the Routemaster bus they hired to take guests from the church to the reception; those lanes are pretty narrow.
The bridesmaids’ brilliant Sunflower bouquets brightened up the clouds that started to threaten in the afternoon. But by the wedding breakfast and speeches were finished, Hayley, Nick and I were able to make the most of cleared skies and sunset in the beautiful valley near Herons Farm. To finish off the musical theme of the day, the bride and groom’s band of friends played Crewe & Gaudio’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and Nick surprised Hayley and the rest of us when he grabbed the microphone to sing along. A great day and thanks to Hayley and Nick.
