Irma and Alfred asked me to photograph their small and intimate wedding in the beautiful cathedral city of Winchester, Hampshire, and chose my Wedding Breakfast coverage with an extension until after their speeches. So my day started with some photos of Irma and her bridesmaid, Laura, getting ready at the Winchester Hotel and Spa before moving on to Hampshire Register Office for their ceremony for their families and a few close friends. Theirs was another very international wedding as Irma’s parents had flown in from her hometown of Moscow and Alfred’s family and friends from his homeland of Malta.
I had to admire Irma and Alfred’s wonderful attitude as they smiled off the very changeable weather (there were plenty of downpours) and the fact that their wedding car broke down after the ceremony. This meant that the journeys to their church blessing after the ceremony and then on to their reception at the Paul Woodhouse Suite at Winchester Cathedral, had to be made by cab.
We found enough shelter from the rain in the archway covering the cathedral’s spectacular red doors for some relaxed bride and groom photos and a few gaps in the rain for some group photos before settling in for the reception. The meal started with the speeches and I then headed off and left Irma, Alfred and guests to enjoy their meal and the rest of their day.
