My first summer wedding at beautiful Grovefield House, Taplow, Buckinghamshire, and what a sunny day it was. Even when I have photographed winter weddings here the sun has come out, but it was nice this time to have it higher in the sky and giving plenty of warmth. Jackie and Kevin opted not to include bridal preparations so my day started at Grovefield with meeting and greeting guests.
Their ceremony was in Grovefield’s Hamilton Suite which has large windows and great light. Jackie and Kevin took the unusual step of processing into the ceremony together. After their happy and beautiful ceremony we all filed outside where the lovely weather allowed the bride and groom and their guests the chance to make the most of Grovefield’s large gardens for drinks.
Jackie and Kevin had a nicely relaxed pace to their timings for the day which allowed them plenty of time to chat to their friends and family once we had taken the few group photos and some relaxed bride and groom photos. As I remember from my own wedding last year, it is important to build in enough time for relaxing as your wedding day will always fly by. It also gives plenty of opportunity for informal “reportage” style photos.
After the wedding breakfast and speeches, it was a lovely summer evening and was still light and warm enough for guests to enjoy a few drinks on the patio when I left after the first dance.
