I was delighted when Marina and Ben asked me to photograph their wedding at beautiful Wasing Park, near Aldermaston, Berkshire. Although they chose my Wedding Breakfast service, we still managed to incorporate most of the traditions of a whole wedding day, including cake cutting and a first dance.
Perhaps inspired by Wasing’s Castle Barn, Marina and Ben had chosen excellent mediaeval costumes for the children. Initially the weather was wetter than forecast, but Marina had the presence of mind to bring some more practical backup footwear so we were able to take a walk around Wasing’s fabulous grounds for some relaxed bridal portraits. The bride and groom then entered the barn to cut their cakes and perform a choreographed first dance on the barn’s stage before taking their seats for the Spanish/British themed wedding breakfast.
