I was so pleased when Sarah and Peter asked me to photograph their wedding, giving me another chance to work at the beautiful Grovefield House Hotel, Taplow, Buckinghamshire. The ceremony itself was in St Nicolas’ Church, Taplow but didn’t begin until after I had visited the hive of activity that was Sarah’s parents’ house where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. The Oak Saw was the next port of call where the guests were being met and greeted by Peter (grabbing a bit of Dutch courage before the arrival of his beautiful bride).
A little Dutch courage was also taken by the Best Man in the vestry during the register signing, after their moving church ceremony. Then it was off to Grovefield House. Although cool and cloudy, we were able to make the most of the lovely grounds at Grovefield for some fairly informal bridal portraits and group photos before the bride and groom were able to rejoin their guests in plenty of time for their wedding breakfast.
Danny, the Best Man, put on an excellent slideshow for his speech and Sarah was obviously moved by it. After the meal I was able to wander around quietly taking some more fun and informal shots as the Grovefield staff prepared the Huntswood Suite for the evening celebrations. Soon enough it was time for the first dance, after which I bid farewell to another great and enjoyable day and left everyone to carry on partying into the night.
