This was my first wedding at Rivervale Barn in Yateley, Hampshire and I was thrilled to be asked to work there. A lot of thought obviously went into the design of this purpose built barn venue and, among its many wonderful features, there is great light in each of its main rooms which makes it a pleasure to shoot in.
In terms of the weather, Louise and Tim’s day didn’t start well and it was pretty wet as Louise and her bridesmaids arrived at Rivervale to finish getting ready in Rivervale’s Cottage. There were plenty of laughs anyway so it was clear it was going to be a fun day whatever the weather did, and that’s the way it should always be.
By the time the ceremony started the weather had cleared up, so we were able to head to Rivervale’s beautiful gardens for a few family shots and some photographs of the bride and groom. They then returned to their guests in plenty of time to mingle before their wedding breakfast. My coverage ended after the happy couple had danced their first dance to a live band and were joined on the dance floor by their guests, young and old, to celebrate their happy day.
