I was delighted when Claire and Damien asked me to photograph their wedding at St Mary and All Saints church, Beaconsfield and the beautiful Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham, Buckinghamshire. Two lovely new venues on a rather wet day but, as you can see from all the laughter, no spirits were dampened. My day started at their house in Marlow with the girls’ preparations. Claire and Damien’s daughter, Gabriella was on hand to help with the examination of the jewellery. I was then off to the Saracen’s Head in Beaconsfield, just across the road from the church to capture a few shots of Damien and friends stocking up on a bit of Dutch courage before the ceremony. After the service we headed off to the beautiful Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham. Although it had been raining all day, Claire and Damien must have been blessed because it relented for a few minutes on their arrival at the venue. So, we were quickly able to make the most of the greenery and scenery and capture a few shots of the new bride and groom before the skies opened again. A great time was had by all at the reception and especially during the speeches at which the Best Man displayed a rather embarrassing mankini. The party well and truly got started after the First Dance and a couple of songs later I left Claire, Damien and friends to enjoy themselves and headed home to start work on their photos.
